SSENYONJO JONATHON

Jonathan was born with Tetralogy of Fallot, which should have been repaired by 6 months of age. Paty’s Project met Jonathan when he was 8 years old, he could only walk short distances before tiring and having to sit down to catch his breath. Johnathan had a successful operation in 2021 and since then is thriving. He loves to play with his siblings, is getting straight A’s in school, and is an amazing artist.

Amutuheire Fortunate

Fortunate was one of the oldest children in our program with one of the most complicated heart defects. She had been turned away from many other heart programs because of the complexity of her surgery, her family had searched for years to get her help and she was running out of time. In 2023 she traveled to India with Paty’s Project to have the first of two surgeries to repair her heart. In 2024 she returned and had the remainder of her defect repaired. She is now back in Uganda and regularly attending school for the first time. Her Aunt is so grateful for the help of Paty’s Project and saving Fortunate’s life.

Babirye Hanifa

Babiyre was one of Paty’s Project’s most critical patients. When she joined our program, she was on the cusp of being inoperable, her oxygen saturations were often in the 50s and she struggled to breath. Within days of having her open-heart surgery she was running up and down the hallway of the medical ward, her mother was in joyous disbelief. She is now back in Uganda, in school and doing wonderful. Her family is so thankful to Paty’s Project.

Mbwali Gift

Gift is Patrick’s Biological sister, she received heart surgery in 2018. Prior to her surgery she was in and out of the hospital often. Since having her VSD repaired, Gift is a happy and healthy almost 9 year old girl. She loves to run and play with other children in her village and go to school.
